Life in Riverton

I recently had a complaint that my blog "really" needed to be udated. Yes...it's been a while. I'm totally flattered that somebody actually reads it.

So, I'm a little bit of a hermit and I'm shy and so I haven't really put myself "out there" yet, as far as getting to know all my new neighbors and stuff. It's so dumb. I would probably never make a new friend if it weren't for people making the effort to get to know ME. I'm glad my kids are more sociable. They've made quite a few new friends. Taylor, however, is still struggling a little bit with the change. He talks a lot about his old school and our old house. I didn't think it would be this hard for him. He went and played with one of his friends in the old 'hood a couple of weeks ago and said it made him sad to look at our house and not be able to go inside. Sniff, sniff...

But things are good. We love the house. We have good neighbors. The school is great, except for the way it was designed (back in the 70's with no walls, so they put some in later down the road and now most of the classrooms don't have WINDOWS!!!) The boys get to take the bus, which is kind of fun for them. But of course... Taylor misses being able to walk.

Wednesday was "Walk to School Day" and we walked. I had no idea how far it was. It took a good 20 minutes. It was good exercise for all of us though, so maybe we should do it once in a while. There's a big bridge that goes over 12600 South to the school.

One thing that the kids like about the new house is that there are new places to hide. We play hide and seek at least once a week. This is where I found them once during our last game. It was hilarious because Chase had taken the garbage can that is normally under the sink and put it out in the middle of the bathroom floor so it was totally obvious they were in there. He's so cute.

They also love the tub..

Here are some pics from Labor Day weekend. We went up to the cabin for breakfast and just kicked back and relaxed.

I think that pretty well sums things up for us lately. But more to come!
